  4. Example 1 1st•3rd Factor out the GCF first! Factor completely. 18x2 + 21x + 6 3(6x2 + 7x + 2) 2nd 2x 1 12 6x2 3x 3x 4 3 7 2 4x 2 3(3x + 2)(2x + 1) Pick 2 #s that multiply to get the top and add to get the bottom. Those go on the sides of the X. Don’t forget the 3 out front!
