Overview of A2A Network • Mission--“To foster mutually beneficial relationships among alumni to help manage individual career transitions, perpetuate executive-level success and establish a strong sense of community among alumni with 5+ years of work experience.” • Board Sponsors--Maria Sekas-Krum and Shawn Lancaster (Co-Chairs), Rick Lustig, Dean Burrell, Don Zinn, Esta Bigler, Amber Gilbert.

Overview of A2A Network • Stated Need • Most difficult labor market for the job seeker in over 30 years • Alum in HR, Legal, Labor have all been severely impacted, particularly on the East Coast (NYC) and California • Coach Responsibility • 30 minute phone call or meeting • Networking, Resume Advice, Realistic Job Preview, Information on Market Compensation, Job Search Advice

A2A Network Status • Pilot Territory • Boston/MA corridor to Central New Jersey • Including RI, CT and NY state • Expansion to New territories possible with local lead person. • Current Participants • 16 Mentees ILR Alums in Transition • 69 Mentors • Mostly in the Metro NYC area • 8 Mentees found new positions since August 2009 • Focus on Participant Needs & Mentee Feedback • Your Support • Sign up today as a Mentor or Alum in Transition

Group Activity • Breakout into groups of 5-7 • Spend 5 minutes brainstorming ideas that can drive local participation in ILR activities • Take your top 3 ideas and list : • What can the board do now to drive participation? • What resources do we need? e.g., People , Money, Time, Facilities • What can we do right now to start?

  8. Summary • Focus on building local territory participation • Headline events in Fall/Winter in NYC • Experiment with New Ideas in 2011 based on budget and local leadership.
