  2. Hosea 10v12 NIV • Sow for yourselves righteousness, reap the fruit of unfailing love and break up your unploughed ground; for it is time to seek the Lord, until He comes and showers righteousness on you.

  3. Hosea 10v12 ‘The Message’ • Sow righteousness, reap love. It’s time to till the ready earth, it’s time to dig in with God. Until He arrives with righteousness ripe for harvest.

  4. Fallow ground • What is it? • Why the challenge to break it up? • Why now?

  5. Ploughing word • Give God permission/surrender • Allow God to plough • God can plough in the dark and difficult times • Prepared soil is ready • God gives growth

  6. How do we break it up? • Humble yourself - repent • Seek His face - relationship • Read the Bible – it is life giving • Invite the Holy Spirit to help and fill us

  7. King David/heart issues • A worshipper/lover of God/God’s word • Sinned – no sense of sorrow • Confronted conviction • Repented + absolute belief in God

  8. What about us? • David a man just like us • Submit to God – the devil will flee • The daily searchlight of God • When we sin, repent and believe in God • Condemnation not from God • Conviction restoration + joy

  9. What is the state of our soil/heart? Ready Soft Whole hearted Open

  10. Sowing • Unprepared soil - Concrete ground, rocky places, thorny choking ground • Good ready, prepared soil • Sow the seed you want to harvest

  11. Harvest/fruitfulness • Expect growth • Harvest for now - feeding us and others • Seed to sow for the future harvest Don’t think that nothing is happening

  12. In Conclusion • God wants our everything • God wants prepared hearts • God brings life SO.......
