Dry IcePackage Marking and Labeling • Exterior of package per IATA: • Mark Dry Ice or Carbon Dioxide, solid on package • Mark the UN number (UN1845) on package • Mark the Net weight of Dry Ice on the box (in Kg only) • Class 9 diamond label is required • Or, steps 1-4 can be consolidated on a special Class 9 sticker, displaying the same information • UPS thermal address label. (No Shipper’s Declaration is required, as UPS thermal label meets IATA documentation requirements.)

  4. Biological Substances Example of Packing and Marking for Category B • At least one surface of the outer packaging must have a minimum dimension of 100 mm x 100 mm. • The primary receptacle or the secondary packaging must be capable of withstanding, without leakage, an internal pressure producing a pressure differential of not less than 95 kPa. • Itemized list of contents between secondary and outer packaging • Biological Substances, • Category B • Package Marking • Information must include the name and telephone number of the responsible contact person • Source: http://www.iata.org/whatwedo/cargo/dangerous_goods/Documents/Guidance_Doc62DGR_52.pdf
