  • Allows local military commanders to designate “military areas” as “exclusive zones” from which “any or all persons may be excluded.”
    • All people of Japanese ancestry are excluded from Pacific coast unless in internment camp

  • 6,200 acres of land made up Manzanar.
  • Over 110,000 Japanese American people lived here.
