Articles are Adjectives Articles: a, an, the (Don’t write examples.) • The pretty retriever and a fluffy pink poodle played together in the park. • An orange is a good source of vitamin C. • This is an honor.
Identify the Adjective(s) • On winter afternoons, I slowly walk home. winter = adjective modifying “afternoons” slowly = adverb (describes how I walk) • At last, I reached my peaceful home. peaceful = adjective modifying “home”
Identify the Adjectives • The wet sidewalk glistens in the bright lights. wet = adjective modifying “sidewalk” bright = adjective modifying “lights” the = adjective/article modifying “sidewalk/lights” glisten = verb…it is what the sidewalk is doing
