    3. Multi-Snaps There are three multiple snap modes or multi-snaps provided for your use with AccuSnap and tentative point snapping in MicroStation V8 2004 Edition. The multi-snaps are numbered — multi-snap 1, multi-snap 2, and multi-snap 3. Unlike an ordinary snap mode, a multi-snap is an ordered list of other snaps. When a multi-snap is active and you move the pointer near an element with AccuSnap enabled or you enter a tentative point, MicroStation sequentially processes the list of snaps defined for that multi-snap. To access this dialog box go to the Settings Pull Down Menu, Select Snaps, the Multi-snaps.

    4. Multi-Snaps Dialog Box (Cont.) Multi-snap 1 — By default: Intersection, Keypoint, Nearest. Multi-snap 2 — By default: Intersection, Keypoint, Center. Multi-snap 3 — By default: Midpoint, Intersection, Center. Key-in: dialog multisnap <1 | 2 | 3> Key-in: multisnap <1 | 2 | 3> [snap_mode_list] In the key-in, snap_mode_list can consist of any or all of KEYPOINT, BISECTOR, MIDPOINT, ORIGIN, INTERSECTION, CENTER, and NEAREST, separated by spaces, in the desired order.

    5. Dwg Audit Scans a DWG and/or DXF file, and generates a report on the number of objects audited and the number of errors found. If errors are found, an alert box asks if you would like to correct the error. You can also access this from the Utilities Pull Down Menu, Select DWG, then Audit. To run DWG Audit without being prompted to fix errors, use the DWG AUDIT FIX key-in. Key-in: DWg audit fix

    6. Place Note Text Style or Dimension Style. Text Rotation — rotation of the text relative to the leader line. Location — whether the leader line can be placed in multiple segments. Leader Type — line or curve. Start At — whether the note is placed starting with the terminator or the text. Inline Leader — optional segment of the leader that is aligned with the text.

    7. Compress Options Used to purge empty and unused data resources from the open DGN file as well as deleted elements. You select what compress options you want. More like AutoCad’s Purge command. To access go to File pull Down Menu, Select Compress, the Options.

    8. Power Selector Improvements Lv (Level) — lets you select the required levels from a list (1–63 plus any named levels present). Co (Color) — lets you select the required colors from a list (0–254 plus By Level). Lc (Style) — lets you select the required line styles from a list (0–7 plus any custom line styles present). Wt (Weight) — lets you select the required line weights from a list (0–31 plus By Level). Ty (Type) — lets you select the required element types from a list. Cl (Class) — lets you select the required element classes from a list.

    9. Associative Region Boundary If on, the region boundary retains association with the elements used to create it. If one of the original elements is modified, then the boundary element updates to reflect the modification. Great for hatching needs and modifications.

    10. Copy Parallel Mitered/Rounded Miter — Extends or shortens connecting segments while maintaining the angle of their connections. Round — Fills the gap with a rounded arc between the two moved elements. Original — Fills the gap in the same manner as the MicroStation/J implementation of this tool; the resulting element is the same type as the original element.

    11. Display Sets Displaysets let you select a group of elements to display in selected views, with all other elements hidden. To turn on displaysets in a view(s)From the Settings menu, choose View Attributes. Click Apply, to set the display for the view set in the View Number option menu, or All to apply to all views. To create a displayset from selected elements Use the Element Selection tool to select the required elements. With the pointer in a view, press <Shift + Reset>, to open the view pop-up menu. From the Displayset menu, choose Set.

    12. Quick Sets Working in conjunction with named groups, quicksets let you quickly save selected elements as named groups for later recall. Groups of elements created as Quicksets, have the setting for Member Type set to passive. That is, they do not propagate changes to other members in the quickset. For example, if you turn on Group Lock on and then move a member of a quickset, it will have no effect on other members of the quickset group. To work with all members of a quickset, you first must recall the quickset.

    13. Quick Sets (Cont.) You can create and recall up to ten named groups via the Quickset Save and Quickset Recall menus in the view pop-up menu, which is activated by pressing <Shift + Reset>. Alternatively, you can create or recall up to ten quicksets using the keyboard shortcuts <Ctrl-Shift-n> and <Ctrl-n>, respectively, where n is a value 0 – 9 inclusive. By default, quicksets are given the names Quickset0 through to Quickset9, and appear as such in the Named Groups dialog box. Where necessary, you can use the Named Groups dialog box to rename them. When creating or recalling a quickset with key-ins, the numbers in the alpha-numeric section of th keyboard must be used, not those from the numeric keypad.

    14. Quick Sets (Cont.) To create a quickset via the view pop-up menu Use the Element Selection tool to select the elements to be included. With the pointer in the view, press <Shift + Reset>, to open the view pop-up menu. From the Quickset Save menu, choose the required number for the quickset. To recall a quickset via the view pop-up menu Press <Shift + Reset>, to open the view pop-up menu. From the Quickset Recall menu, choose the number for the required quickset.

    15. Quick Sets (Cont.) To create a quickset with a keyboard shortcut Use the Element Selection tool to select the elements to be included. Press <Ctrl + Shift + n> where “n” is the number of the quickset (from 0 to 9, entered from the alphanumeric part of the keyboard). To recall a quickset with a keyboard shortcut Press <Ctrl + n> where “n” is the number of the quickset that you want to recall and is a number from 0 to 9 entered from the alphanumeric part of the keyboard.     16. Match Element From Cursor Alternative Method — To match an element's attributes With AccuSnap enabled, hover the pointer over the element whose level and attributes you want matched. Key in MATCH ELEMENT FROMCURSOR. The active level and level attributes are changed to that of the highlighted element. Key-in: MATCH ELEMENT [FROMCURSOR]
