  1. ERIKS’ new sponsorship model • Sponsorship is a support of ERIKS’ work to promote children's rights and the situation in a country/region, not support of an individual child. • Child Clubs – participation & empowerment

  2. What is communicated to the sponsor? • Thanks to the support from sponsors, ERIKS will go into an area for several years to work diligently to see that children in the area will be better off. When we have reached our goals, we move on to another area. • Your support is used throughout Erikshjälpens work in the area. • By being a sponsor, you help a child and his/her friends to have better access to education, health, and livelihood from their parents. • Many children in the area are given the opportunity to join a Child Club. A child will give you information about the progress of work in the area and what he/she is doing in the Child Club. • Together with his/her friends the child you are in contact with will learn about things that should be obvious everywhere - that girls and boys are equal, that children have the right to their views and opinions, and that no one can beat or exploit children.

  3. Child Participation – 7 practice standards • An ethical approach: transparency, honesty and accountability • Children’s participation is relevant and voluntary • A child-friendly, enabling environment • Equality of opportunity • Staff are effective and confident • Participation promotes the safety and protection of children • Ensuring follow-up and evaluation

  4. Welcome Pack to sponsor includes: - Informationabout being a sponsor - Information on ERIKS’ work in the country / region- Photo and very brief info from a child who is in a context where ERIKS and partner(s) is working.

  5. Feedback to sponsor takes place twice a year. The focus should be on the local context in which the child is (child club, activities in the village, etc.), but you can also highlight additional activities carried out in the country / region thanks to the support of the sponsors. In addition to this, either in a single reporting or split betweenthe two deliveries:- A photo of the child. The child can be part of a small group photo.- A message from the child. The greeting can be in the form of a "report" produced by the club. The child in question is the sender of the report.
