  3. Industrialization begins in England • England has the Factors of Production • Lots of food and people • Lots of land • Capital (money) from banks and trade • Natural resources (iron, coal, wood) • Transportation (ships, rivers, harbors) • Free from war!

  4. Textiles Industrialize First • Textiles = manufacture of cloth/clothes • New inventions speed up the process • Flying Shuttle • Spinning Jenny • Spinning Mule • Wealthy textile merchants set up first factories

  5. Early Textile Factories: Kinda nice, and by Water!

  6. Later Textile Factories: Cramped and full of Orphans!
