  2. Core Competency 1 Identifying as a professional social worker and conduct oneself according.

  3. Core Competency 1.1 Advocate for client access to the service of social work. I will ensure that I am up to date about local programs and community resources that my clients might be able to benefit from.

  4. Core Competency 1.2 Practice personal reflection and self-correlation to assure continual professional development. I will talk with my supervisor about appropriate behavior to certain situation during my placement while assuring that I am using the NSAW code of ethics.

  5. Core Competency 1.3 Attend to professional roles and boundaries. It is my job to review the learning contract and the practice behaviors to ensure that I am staying with my scope thought my internship.

  6. Core Competency 1.4 Demonstrate professional demeanor in behavior. I need to be aware of my body language and the level of my voice, while maintaining empathic to my clients also ensuring confidentiality at all times.

  7. Core Competency 1.5 Appearance and communication. I will dress in a profession manner while staying aware of my clothing, jewelry, and perfuming know this could be offensive to some of my clients.

  8. Core Competency 1.6 Engage in career –long learning and use supervision and consultation. To ensure my career-long learning I will attend my field placement when I am scheduled while also interacting with my UNCP faculty to ensure effective learning.
