  17. What is the idea behind FruitAtmo ? The CO2 release isthemostimportantindicator offruitmetabolism. The CO2 release decreases as the O2-Level is lowered in the CA-room, until the anaerobic compensation point (ACP) is achieved. If the O2-Level is lower than the ACP-Point, then the CO2 release increases sharply. Taking this in account, the response of CO2 releases to the O2 lowering the correct oxygen. FruitAtmo, Summary of Advantages: 1) To employ the new DCA method in commercial rooms, it is not necessary for any additional equipment - reducing the cost for its adoption in commercial rooms; 2) With the use of the new DCA method, the oxygen uptake measurement is not necessary to estimate the lowest oxygen limit; 3) During the period, that CO2 scrubber is turned-off to allow the accumulation of CO2 in the storage room is not necessary turn-off the oxygen injection. This is very important to avoid low oxygen stress; 4) The new DCA method gives the new oxygen setpoint, without needing interpretations, as is necessary for other DCA methods; 5) The new DCA method allows the induction of anaerobic metabolism at safety levels. The induction of anaerobic metabolism results in acetaldehyde and ethanol production by fruit.
