  2. Introduction Bangladesh Meteorological Department is the only responsible organization in Bangladesh for monitoring earthquake and Tsunami. This Presentationindicatesthe status of seismic monitoring, early warning communication systems and the data processing system of BMD.

  3. Seismic Network of BMD BMD’s seismic monitoring system nation-wide consists of four digital Broad-Band Seismometers, two Borehole, two digital short-period seismometers and six accelerometers with GPS Synchronization

  7. Type of instrument • From April 2007 Broad Band seismometer, Short period seismometer, Borehole seismometer, Accelerometer etc are in operation. All of these seismometer have three components namely N-S, E-W, and vertical. • Also we have a GPS network.
