  2. Surah 2 Al-Baqarah, Ayat 185-185 During the month of Ramadan the Qur'an was sent down as a guidance to the people with Clear Signs of the true guidance and as the Criterion (between right and wrong). So those of you who live to see that month should fast it, and whoever is sick or on a journey should fast the same number of other days instead. Allah wants ease and not hardship for you so that you may complete the number of days required, magnify Allah for what He has guided you to, and give thanks to Him.187 شَهۡرُ رَمَضَانَ الَّذِىۡٓاُنۡزِلَفِيۡهِالۡقُرۡاٰنُ هُدًى لِّلنَّاسِ وَ بَيِّنٰتٍ مِّنَ الۡهُدٰىوَالۡفُرۡقَانِۚفَمَنۡ شَهِدَ مِنۡكُمُالشَّهۡرَفَلۡيَـصُمۡهُ ؕ وَمَنۡکَانَمَرِيۡضًااَوۡعَلٰى سَفَرٍ فَعِدَّةٌ مِّنۡ اَيَّامٍ اُخَرَؕ يُرِيۡدُاللّٰهُبِکُمُالۡيُسۡرَ وَلَا يُرِيۡدُبِکُمُالۡعُسۡرَ وَلِتُکۡمِلُواالۡعِدَّةَوَلِتُکَبِّرُوااللّٰهَعَلٰى مَا هَدٰٮكُمۡوَلَعَلَّکُمۡتَشۡكُرُوۡنَ‏ ﴿2:185﴾ Happy Land for Islamic Teachings

  4. If you observe the habits of the successful people in different walks of life, you would notice that they strive hard to prepare and get ready for their tasks. A student who excels prepares for his studies before the year begins; a good runner prepares for the race long before it starts and there other numerous examples in our daily life Happy Land for Islamic Teachings

  5. Immediately after Ramadan, our Salaf (righteous predecessors), may Allah have mercy upon them, used to ask Allah The Almighty for six months to accept Ramadan from them and then for the next six months, they would ask Him to enable them to live until the next Ramadan. This is the degree of importance they accorded Ramadan and its precious days. Happy Land for Islamic Teachings

  7. Always start a good deed with a good intention. (Ikhlaas) Sincerity to Allah Make haste to maintain the ties of kinship and beware of severing them Is there better bliss than a clean heart? Happy Land for Islamic Teachings

  8. Purify your heart of any doubts or desires or sins before Ramadan. The Conditions for RepentanceThe conditions for repentance are well known: Leaving the sin; 1.Remorse over having committed the sin; Resolve never to return to the sin; (If it relates to the rights of another person, then to) Return the rights or property one wrongly took. أَسْـتَـغْـفِـرُ اللهَ وَ أَ تُـوبُ إِ لَـْيهِ Astaghfirullah waatubuilaih". 15. Fasting – Exams/Jobs Ramadan and Exams it is a serious challenge. But thinking and planning ahead, along with proper scheduling, can help us not just cope with the stress, but see how fasting and extra prayers in Ramadan can be a great blessing during this time.  Happy Land for Islamic Teachings

  16. Fasting – Exams and Jobs Segment your sleep • “Segmented sleep” is actually a Sunnah. • In terms of studying for finals, this schedule can help us take advantage of that time in the middle of the night for high concentration studying. • Here is how it would work: • go to sleep right after praying Isha • wake up two hours before Fajr starts to study • eat Suhoor • pray Fajr right when the time starts • sleep until the early morning (7 a.m. or 8 a.m.) Happy Land for Islamic Teachings

  17. Fasting – Exams and Jobs Nap Naptime is hardly the preserve of babies and preschoolers. Top performers are attuned to the power of this ritual. Naps help alleviate the sleepiness that we feel even outside of Ramadan, especially in the afternoons. The ideal nap is not more than 20 to 30 minutes long and is preferably taken around 2 pm or 3 pm.  Try to schedule a short nap in the early to mid-afternoon. Make sure to set an alarm, or call a family member or friend who will keep calling you until you wake up. You can take a nap in your car, or in a prayer room in your school. There will very likely be other fasting students doing the same. Alternatively, you can also find a quiet corner of a cafe or the school cafeteria and simply put your head down for a quick snooze.  Happy Land for Islamic Teachings

  18. Fasting – Exams and Jobs Eat smart at Suhur • Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Eat Suhoor, for in Suhoor there is blessing” (Bukhari, Muslim).  • What to Eat at Suhoor • Focus on meals that provide slow releasing energy • Take source of concentrated carbohydrate (dates, other dried fruits, granola) which is packed with energy. • Combine this with a protein (Greek yogurt, boiled egg, nuts, hemp seeds), which will help the energy release more steadily and slowly. • A smoothie combining several of these ingredients. A date walnut smoothie, combining dates, walnuts, yogurt, honey and milk, for example. (You can add) hemp seeds for an extra protein.” Happy Land for Islamic Teachings

  19. Fasting – Exams and Jobs Eat intelligently at Iftar Foods that are high in fat make us sleepy. That rules out a lot of traditional foods from various Muslims cultures during Ramadan. While cutting back completely is difficult, at least try to limit intake of these items. This will help you be able to pray Taraweeh, and in terms of studying it will help you feel more alert the rest of the day.  Happy Land for Islamic Teachings

  20. Fasting – Exams and Jobs Recognize your limits - don’t do too much Limit physical activity during Ramadan so you can save it for the brain power you need to study and concentrate during exams. While a short walk after Iftar may be a good idea, heavy duty workouts, or schedules crammed with various extra-curricular and social activities will waste the energy you need to save for fasting and studying.  Happy Land for Islamic Teachings

  21. Fasting – Exams and Jobs Dua “And your Lord says: “Call on Me; I will answer your (Prayer)!” (Quran 40:60). Dua should be our first and last resort. We should constantly seek Allah’s Help and ease as we fast and study. Begin Ramadan with a sincere Dua for great success in the spiritual and the scholastic. Beg Allah to help you balance all of your responsibilities, and to emerge from Ramadan more God-conscious, a better student, and with more knowledge and understanding.  Happy Land for Islamic Teachings

  22. In conclusion, we must look at the month of Ramadan as a time for abandoning our normal habits and attempting to reach a greater degree of moderation. We must slow ourselves down and stop to reflect and contemplate to a greater degree, which will allow us to see this world and our purpose with clearer and more penetrating insight. A few small sacrifices on our part will certainly lead to an unfathomable journey to Allah which extends beyond this world and into eternity. Happy Land for Islamic Teachings
