Timeline of the National Park Service First parks established due to national history 1930 Ferdinand Vandiveer Hayden explored the Yellowstone area. 1871 Antiquities Act was passed 1906 1935 The Historical Sites Act was passed 1916 The National Park Service was created. 1872 Yellowstone National Park created in the Wyoming & Montana.
