  4. Strategic Location Demopolis is located in the area of the “Automobile Corridor” providing easy access to Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, and Nissan operations. Its location also lends itself to being an attractive place for wood-related industries and their corresponding by-products

  8. Waterways Demopolis is situated at the southern end of the 234 mile long Tennessee Tombigbee Water System and is considered the “gateway” to the system from Mobile. Barge traffic of coal, chemicals, petroleum, and agricultural products moves past pushed by tugboats that salute residents with their horns in passing.   17. Healthcare Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital: Demopolis is a regional healthcare center for the area. It is home to the award-winning Tombigbee Healthcare Authority (THA), which operates a 99-bed hospital in Demopolis. THA provides a wide-range of inpatient and outpatient surgical care, Emergency Medical Services support, home-health, HealthSmart, Sleep Clinic, and Geri-psych services. Through a networking of various agencies within the Tombigbee Healthcare Authority, a broad range of healthcare services is available for patients in the medical service area. The Outpatient Service Center brings a number of specialists to the community for weekly clinics to supplement the numerous family healthcare doctors found in Demopolis.
