REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA STATE STATISTICAL OFFICE Tying metadata and quality beyond quality reporting • Metadata are present in every phase of the statistical BPM • Metadata are created or carried forward from the previous phase • Metadata are an important input for quality management • There is a need for a framework for process quality assessment and improvements

REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA STATE STATISTICAL OFFICE GSBPM • Initially aimed at reaching an agreement on standard terminology • Further extended with overarching statistical processes • Framework for integrating statistical metadata and quality assurance issues • Importance of evaluation and feedback throughout the statistical business process

REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA STATE STATISTICAL OFFICE SSO statistical BPM • Currently existing catalogue of activities is used as a proxy for BPM • A major revision is foreseen that could result in better harmonization with the GSBPM, eventually mapping to GSBPM • Identification of metadata relevant to each phase and linking with the quality concepts

Feedback loops in SSO BPM Evaluation and feedback throughout the statistical business process as a prerequisite for sound quality management Activity-oriented view of metadata life cycle (description of processes) Entity-oriented view of metadata life cycle (description of deliverables) If the outputs do not meet the desired specifications, the process itself or the system behind has to be changed REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA STATE STATISTICAL OFFICE
