  1. Out of everything Colorado does, one of the most important is investing in a high-quality education for our kids. We need to make a commitment to the next generation to reduce class sizes, to get the best teachers into classrooms and to provide more one-on-one attention to students. A high-quality education system will give Colorado — and our children — the opportunity to be successful.

  12. Let’s Build a Brighter Future By: Investing in kids in the early years through full-day kindergarten and preschool for those who qualify. Supporting the successful implementation of cutting-edge reforms already enacted by the Legislature, including individual student learning plans, a new teacher support and accountability system, and ensuring third graders can read at grade level. Providing personalized approaches to students with unique needs, including at-risk, English-language learners, special education and gifted and talented students. Creating greater transparency in school and district budgets.

  13. Amendment 66: Smaller class sizes Schools could hire thousands of new teachers to reduce class sizes. Individualized attention Teachers could provide students with the one-on-one time they need.  Restored programs Districts would have more flexibility to restore funding for art and music classes, sports programs and transportation  Money raised will  be locked in a fund that can only be used for education reforms and programs.

  17. These new funds will be locked in a State Education Achievement Fund to be used only for improvements in the classroom.

  18. Strengthen early childhood education and provide preschool and full-day kindergarten. STUDENTS Increased funding for charter schools, allowing them to operate on an equal footing with traditional schools. Increased support for gifted and talented students, at-risk students, and English-language learners Smaller class sizes to offer more one-on-one time between students and teachers.

  19. TEACHERS Budget decisions aligned to students in their buildings. Support for professional development. Opportunities for educators to share & expand great ideas. Provides funding to help attract and retain the best educators.
