  3. Students expand their understanding of the capability and evaluate its relevance to themselves and the Research Project It is assessed under Application 3 Application of relevant research processes and reference to the chosen capability

  4. This information should appear in the Folio through the Proposal, the Discussions with your teacher and in your Folio notes. • It will also significantly appear in depth in the Evaluation the externally assessed piece worth 30%

  5. Understand the Capabilities by reading through handouts Discuss your chosen Capability with your Research Project Teacher

  6. Organise a section of the Folder under “Capabilities” Fill out attached sheets

  11. Learning This is the key Capability in the Research Project It is not assessed separately but its value is intrinsic to the work It is important to familiarise yourselves with this Capability

In the Research Project students: • Locate, collect, organise, evaluate, analyse and use information • Develop their knowledge and understanding of a range of research processes • Keep records of their research, such as a journal, a weblog (blog), and e-portfolio, scientific notes, or annotated photographic evidence • Consider and respond to feedback from teachers, peers, and others • Consider ethical research processes, including respecting the rights and work of others, acknowledging sources, and observing protocols when approaching people and organisations • Develop their ability to think critically and ethically
