  2. Redes Inalámbricas La siguiente presentación habla de las Redes Inalámbricas , sus características , ventajas , desventajas y ámbitos donde se utilizan.

  3. Características • Los datos viajan de equipo a otro a través de “ondas de radio”, a 100 mts aproximadamente, que se conoce como wifi • No se utilizan cables • El uso de estas redes ha crecido por el incremento de la adquisición de equipos portátiles (notebook, netbook, ipad, celulares, etc.)

  4. Ventajas • Flexibilidad • Suelen ser más baratas. • Permiten gran movilidad dentro del alcance de la red • Suelen instalarse más fácilmente • Facilidad de configuración.

  5. Desventajas • Todavía no hay estudios certeros sobre la peligrosidad (o no) de las radiaciones utilizadas en las redes inalámbricas. • Son mas inseguras ya que las puede “hackear” • Poco ancho de bandas • Mayor inversión inicial • Seguridad • Interferencias

  6. Ámbitos donde se utilizan • Hogares • Oficinas • Lugares Públicos
