  2. Location of Serbia in the transport network in South Eastern Europe

  3. General information on transport in Serbia Freight transport has increased in recent years, both rail and road, but on a larger scale road transport. The transport index in Serbia 2005-2009 (compared to 2004) Source: Statistical Office of Serbia

Transport in the interlandterminal of goods in import/export for Serbia The total annual volume of container transported to / from Serbia by all means of transportation is about 50 000 TEUs, of which: • 30% 20 ft containers, • 70% 40 ft containers. Of these 50 000 TEUs, •80% of containers are intended for import, •20% of exports. Of these 50 000 TEUs, •70% are arriving via Port of Rijeka, Croatia o80% road transport o20% rail transport •20% via Port of Bar in Montenegro o90% road transport o10% rail transport •10% via Koper, Constanta and Thessaloniki. oConstanta – 50 % are arriving by barges, the rest by road transport oKoperand Thessaloniki – 100% by road transport.

Rail transport of containers in Serbia According to the "Serbian Railways", total annual volume by rail in import/export for Serbia is 19 000 TEU, of which: •18,000 TEU to/from the port of Rijeka o10,000 loaded import containers and o450 loaded containers for export, o7550 empty containers •1000 TEU to/from the port of Koper and other ports. For transport of containers “Serbian Railways” has: - 205 2-axle wagons type Kgs - 309 4-axle wagons, type Regs - 135 4-axle wagons, type Sgnss. There are no relevant data from “Serbian Railways” for transit of containers via Serbia.
