  6. In order to have a healthy and growing church, we must pay attention to all the parts of the church’s life and ministry (the five elements and the five functions).

  10. CLEAR VISION | 1 Peter 2:9-12 8 Key Aspects of a Vision Statement: It presents a clear picture of a preferred future. It enables one to think of possibilities with God’s “eyeglasses.” It’s based on the redemptive purposes of God. It’s not satisfied with the status quo (the way things are at present). It takes faith. It’s communicated in a simple form. It moves one toward prayer and action/it gives a sense of urgency. It’s shared among leaders and members.

CONTRAST BETWEEN LEADERSHIP STYLES Worship factors that can help a church to grow: Warm welcome to visitors (making sure they have a place to sit/ stand and explanations so they know what’s going on). Follow-up of visitors (some personal contact shortly after they’ve attended worship). Room for new people in the worship area. Solid Biblical preaching that is faithful to Scripture and relevant to people’s lives. Clear communication about ways people can become involved in the church.
