  2. GOOD COMMUNICATION SKILLS Children are very sensitive little beings, and they are quite in tune with sincerity, they pick up on body language quite easily. You will need to communicate the tasks at hand using a kind, encouraging tone. Children needs lots of encouragement and need to feel supported. If you can improve on these skills, it would be highly beneficial as an occupational therapist. There are many professional development courses for OT specialists.

  3. EMPATHY AND PATIENCE Most children love to talk and play. They will tell you the longest stories, some true and some completely fresh out of their imagination. Displaying empathy for their frustrations, and patience as they try continuously to complete a task will do a wonder of good for your appointment and also for the progress of the child.
