  3. The Cheerful Heart • (Prov 15:13 NKJV) A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance, But by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken. • (Prov 17:22 NKJV) A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones.

  4. The Cheerful Heart • Harmless mirth is recommended to us, as that which contributes to the health of the body, making men lively and fit for business, and to the acceptableness of the conversation, making the face to shine and rendering us pleasant one to another. A cheerful spirit, under the government of wisdom and grace, is a great ornament to religion, puts a further lustre upon the beauty of holiness, and makes men the more capable of doing good. Henry

  5. Seeking Wisdom • (Prov 15:14 NKJV) The heart of him who has understanding seeks knowledge, But the mouth of fools feeds on foolishness.

  6. Seeking Wisdom • (Eccl 1:13 NKJV) And I set my heart to seek and search out by wisdom concerning all that is done under heaven; this burdensome task God has given to the sons of man, by which they may be exercised.

  7. Back to the Cheerful Heart. • (Prov 15:15 NASB) All the days of the afflicted are bad, But a cheerful heart has a continual feast. • (Prov 15:15 TLB) When a man is gloomy, everything seems to go wrong; when he is cheerful, everything seems right!

  11. Choosing Right Values • (Prov 15:16 NASB) Better is a little with the fear of the LORD, Than great treasure and turmoil with it. • (Prov 15:16 NCV) It is better to be poor and respect the LORD than to be wealthy and have much trouble.

  12. True Love is Vital • (Prov 15:17 NKJV) Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, Than a fatted calf with hatred. • (Prov 15:17 TLB) It is better to eat soup with someone you love than steak with someone you hate.

  13. Control Your Temper • (Prov 15:18 NKJV) A wrathful man stirs up strife, But he who is slow to anger allays contention. • (Prov 15:18 NCV) People with quick tempers cause trouble, but those who control their tempers stop a quarrel.

  14. It’s better to be good. • (Prov 15:19 NKJV) The way of the lazy man is like a hedge of thorns, But the way of the upright is a highway. • (Prov 15:19 TLB) A lazy fellow has trouble all through life;the good man's path is easy!

  16. The Good Son • (Prov 15:20 NKJV) A wise son makes a father glad, But a foolish man despises his mother. • (Prov 15:20 TLB) A sensible son gladdens his father. A rebellious son saddens his mother.

  17. Those who understand walk uprightly • (Prov 15:21 NKJV) Folly is joy to him who is destitute of discernment, But a man of understanding walks uprightly. • (Prov 15:21 TLB) If a man enjoys folly, something is wrong! The sensible stay on the pathways of right.

  18. The Need of Counsel (Prov 15:22 NKJV) Without counsel, plans go awry, But in the multitude of counselors they are established. • (Prov 15:22 NCV) Plans fail without good advice, but they succeed with the advice of many others.

  19. The joy of giving good advice • (Prov 15:23 NKJV) A man has joy by the answer of his mouth, And a word spoken in due season, how good it is! • (Prov 15:23 TLB) Everyone enjoys giving good advice, and how wonderful it is to be able to say the right thing at the right time!

  20. The “Display” of wisdom • (Prov 15:24 NKJV) The way of life winds upward for the wise, That he may turn away from hell below. • (Prov 15:24 NIV) The path of life leads upward for the wise to keep him from going down to the grave.

  21. The Value of God’s Providence • (Prov 15:25 NKJV) The LORD will destroy the house of the proud, But He will establish the boundary of the widow. • (Prov 15:25 TLB) The Lord destroys the possessions of the proud but cares for widows.

  22. The Value of God’s Providence • Pro 15:25 • The widow - Here, as elsewhere Deu_10:18; Psa_68:5, the widow, as the most extreme type of desolation, stands as the representative of a class safer in their poverty under the protection of the Lord, than the proud in the haughtiness of their strength.   23. God reviews what we think and say. • (Prov 15:26 NKJV) The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the LORD, But the words of the pure are pleasant. • (Prov 15:26 NIV) The LORD detests the thoughts of the wicked, but those of the pure are pleasing to him.

  24. Avoid Greed & Bribes • (Prov 15:27 NKJV) He who is greedy for gain troubles his own house,But he who hates bribes will live. • (Prov 15:27 NCV) Greedy people bring trouble to their families, but the person who can't be paid to do wrong will live.

  25. Think before you speak! • (Prov 15:28 NKJV) The heart of the righteous studies how to answer, But the mouth of the wicked pours forth evil. • (Prov 15:28 TLB) A good man thinks before he speaks; the evil man pours out his evil words without a thought.

  26. God hears & helps the righteous. • (Prov 15:29 NKJV) The LORD is far from the wicked, But He hears the prayer of the righteous. • (Prov 15:29 NCV) The LORD does not listen to the wicked,but he hears the prayers of those who do right.

  27. We like good reports. • (Prov 15:30 NKJV) The light of the eyes rejoices the heart,And a good report makes the bones healthy. • (Prov 15:30 TLB) Pleasant sights and good reports give happiness and health. (Prov 15:30 NCV) Good news makes you feel better.Your happiness will show in your eyes.

  28. We need to accept correction • (Prov 15:31 NKJV) The ear that hears the rebukes of life Will abide among the wise. • (Prov 15:31 TLB) If you profit from constructive criticism, you will be elected to the wise men's hall of fame. But to reject criticism is to harm yourself and your own best interests.

  29. We must accept correction. • (Prov 15:32 NKJV) He who disdains instruction despises his own soul, But he who heeds rebuke gets understanding. • (Prov 15:32 NASB) He who neglects discipline despises himself, But he who listens to reproof acquires understanding.

  30. The fear of the Lord • (Prov 15:33 NKJV) The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom, And before honor is humility. • (Prov 15:33 NIV) The fear of the LORD teaches a man wisdom,and humility comes before honor.

  31. Keep a Nose up attitude and fly! So Keep your Nose up and fly! Go with God!
