Tips for search in NCBI • Search terms typed in the query box are automatically ANDedi. e. the search engine returns documents that include all of them. • boolean operators: AND OR NOT • Wildcard character * • COX searches only for COX, but COX* searches anything that starts with COX, like COX1A, COX1B etc • Phrase search • “pinussylvestris” rather thanpinussylvestris
