  1. What is a Doorstep Club? “A Doorstep Sport Club provides a vibrant and varied sporting offer to young people in disadvantaged communities that is designed to grow their motivation and ability to adopt a sporting habit for life”

What makes a good DSC? • Committed project co-ordinator who has a strong vision for the club and understands the doorstep sport approach • Makes links with other partners to engage the target market, promote sessions and support delivery • Access training and workforce development support • Direct engagement methods via outreach work • Rewards regular attendance • Constantly monitors uptake and responds /adapts

  3. What are we trying to achieve? The numbers • Participants - 60 per club • Regular participants – 15 -20 % = 10 -12 • 30% girls (across the programme) • 20% BME communities (across the programme) • 4% people with disabilities (across the programme) • 75% of DSC operating in partnership • 2500 learners in Doorstep sport training workshops

Other Success Factors • Achievement and progress against the 10 operating principles • The creation of a knowledgeable and supportive team of Doorstep Sport Advisers • Sharing and learning together - through network meetings, information sharing and connections with other deliverers • DSCs connecting and working well with other partners eg NGBs
