  2. So What is Radiation…?? • Radiation is a general term that refers to any sort of energy that can travel through space as either a wave or a particle. Examples of radiation include light, radio waves and microwaves • There are two types of radiation, ionising radiation, and non-ionising radiation. • Extremely high doses of ionising radiation, such as those released during the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, can destroy the majority of your blood cells and are fatal. • When people talk about the dangers of radiation they are referring to high-energy ionising radiation.

  3. Radioactivity Tags • Radioactivity tags, also known as film badges are simply designed to detect radiation as no human senses can do it.
