  1. utahsonlinelibrary.org Utah’s Online Library is a non-profit public service of Utah public libraries, K-12 schools, and college and university libraries.

  2. Introduction • Teachers, students, and citizens in Utah have a need for library information resources. • Utah’s libraries provide many resources to meet these needs. • Unfortunately, it is not possible for Utah’s libraries to provide all of the information needed by Utahns.

  3. Introduction (Cont’d) • While no library may be able to meet all patrons’ information needs, Utah’s Online Library, significantly enhances Utah’s libraries statewide at K-12 schools, public and college/ university libraries, and homes –anywhere Internet access is available.

What Is Utah’s Online Library? • Journals/Magazines • EBSCO, Gale Databases • Encyclopedias • World Book, Funk & Wagnalls, & UCME (Utah Collections Multimedia Encyclopedia) • Newspapers • Deseret Morning News & The Salt Lake Tribune • EBSCO’s Newspaper Source • Utah Digital Newspapers Note: Some of these databases are available to everyone while others are only available to K-12 students and teachers. Each partner provides unique online resources to their patrons.

  7. Additional Resources • Each Utah’s Online Library partner (K-12 schools, public, and college/university libraries) have licensed additional resources to meet specific needs of their patrons. • Check with your library to see what else they have licensed just for you.

Who Uses Utah’s Online Library? • Teachers • lesson plans on every subject; activities, quizzes; professional development and in-service; school projects. • Students • homework assignments such as reports, presentations, and research. • Parents/Utah citizens • family history, health, cooking, auto repair, social, business, ebooks / audio books, and music.

Talk to your local librarian on how to connect to Utah’s Online Library.
