  2. Step 1 – Logging In To obtain a login for the portal please contact us at qualifications@princes-trust.org.uk and let us know your name, centre name, centre address and the programme (PDE) that you are running.

  3. Please contact the Qualifications team if you do not yet have a username and password For xl programme users your login is the same as the microsite If you have previously been issued with a username or password but have forgotten the details – click here and enter the email address you registered with to be sent a reminder

  4. Step 2 – Getting Started When you first log in you must complete the Fast Track form for your centre. You will also need to have signed a Centre Agreement for Qualifications. Until these forms have been submitted and approved by the Qualifications Team, you will not be able to make entries for your learners. Please do this as soon as possible when you get your login details as it may delay your entries.

  5. You can see your centre details and individual details here. You can edit certain parts but if you are unsure please contact the qualifications team. The Fast track should be completed when you first go into the portal. You will not be able to make entries until this is done. Once you have done this you will not be asked to repeat in future years, however you MUST advise the Trust if any of the details on the form change. If you have previously been registered for the old xl qualification you will need to let us know if you change to the PDE qualification so we can approve you for this

  6. Step 3 – Making Entries Remember – you should only make entries once the work has been completed, Internally Verified (IV’d) and you are ready to have the work Externally Verified (EV’d) by The Prince’s Trust. Details of the EV windows can be found at www.princes-trust.org.uk/trustqualifications/pde/pde_assessment_windows

  7. Click on “Make unit and qualifications claims for PDE” NB – until your Fast Track form has been approved you will not have this option. You will also not have this option if you have not advised us you have changed from the old xl qualification

  8. Each of your registered sessions will be listed for you in the table. If you have not sent profile forms to your Regional Programme Executive then these will not be registered with us and you will be unable to make entries. Click on the session to see a list of your registered learners and to make entries.

  9. As you select units and qualifications the cost will be shown here Registered Learners will appear but they may be on more than one page If a Learner does not appear in the table then we have not received their participant profile form. You must send a participant profile form to your regional executive before you make entries

  10. Select the level of units completed from the drop down boxes. A key to the codes will help you determine which option to choose Units previously assessed entered will appear blanked out .

  11. You will need to scroll along to see all the units and also to find the Qualifications. You will need to select a qualification if you wish to apply for one – it will not automatically get issued.

  12. Once you are happy with your entries you can either save for later or submit for EV. If you wish to starts again press Reset All.

  13. Step 4 – Sample Requests Sample requests are made within 48 hours of the close of a window. It is the centres responsibility to check for their sample requests and ensure the work is sent to us for EV. You can also use the sample request option to check the entries you have made.

  14. Click on “sample requests on results to check your entries, see sample requests, or check results.

  15. No later than 3 days (72 hours) after the close of an assessment window the samples will be available on the portal. If it says no current results are available, then click on Advanced Search.

  16. Ensure you select the right programme Choose which session you require the samples/results for

  17. Qualifications and units entered for will say entered in the table If you have entered for a unit and requested a unit certificate a “+” will appear in the table next to the unit entry If a unit has been sampled it will say Sampled (instead of entered) and will still show a “+” if you asked for a unit certificate

  18. If you have passed a qualification or unit the “entered” entered will disappear and the unit/qualification QAN code will show You can export the information to Excel – this will give a printable version of entries, sample requests and results for a session.

  19. Remember: • When submitting entries if you do not fully complete the payment process then your entries will not be made. • You should check your entries once they are made by going through the “Sample Request and Results” part of the portal. Any errors must be highlighted to The Prince’s Trust Qualification team immediately. Any incorrect entries highlighted to us after the window deadline cannot be changed and will be classed as a fail. A formal resubmission will then be required. • It is a centres responsibility to check the portal for sample requests which will be available no later than 72 hours after the close of a deadline. Failure to send samples to us by the deadline may lead to your entries being failed. Deadline details can be found on our website and it is a centres responsibility to adhere to these.
