  1. Making the Most of Your Disabled Access Holidays As someone who lives with a disability, you are fully aware that the world is not necessarily built to accommodate you. And although things are changing in terms of becoming more accessible, just enjoying some of the simpler activities of life requires far more work on your part. Needless to say that when you are able to take a much-needed holiday in which accessibility is never an issue, such a holiday can be the perfect opportunity for you to recharge and refresh your spirit. We are proud to offer disabled access holidays to our clients. If you have never experienced one yourself, you owe it to yourself to do so. With that in mind, we have a few tips to help first-timers make the most of their holidays. Use a Specialist Tour Company The absolute best way to make the most of your disabled access holidays is to utilise a specialist tour company with plenty of experience. A specialist operator is intimately familiar with access issues covering the entire scope of your holiday – from accessible hotels to transportation to options for activities. You will find that the specialist operator not only gives you more choices, but it also gives you access to the best possible itinerary. Maintain Reasonable Expectations We have found that maintaining reasonable expectations is an integral part of making the most of your disabled access holidays. We can do a lot as a tour operator, but we cannot completely eliminate all of the potential frustrations you might face as a disabled person travelling abroad. Also, do your best to remember that those who are not disabled really have no practical way of completely understanding what you deal with on a daily basis. A little grace goes a long way toward not spoiling your attitude and ruining your travels.

  2. Be Willing to Find a Way Lastly, making the most of your disabled access holidays means being willing to find a way to make things happen. Do not settle for a less than desirable experience because you are unwilling to try. In fact, heed the slogan of a charity known as the West African Handicap Association: disability is never inability. You can thoroughly enjoy disabled holidays if you set your mind to it. We can help. If it has been a while since you have been away, now is the time to change things.
