  1. Recommended route for one week of sailing in middle Croatia (region; Dalmatia) Combination of nature and ports with events / amusements Sailing; day 1 Island Brač / Milna (W/SW) day 2 Island Brač / Bol (S) day 3 Island Hvar / Stari Grad (NW) day 4 Island Hvar / Hvar (SW) day 5 Island Vis / Komiža (SW) or Vis (N) day 6 Town Trogir day 7 Return / „check out” Day 6 Day 1 Day 2 Day 3 Day 4 Day 5

  2. Day 1 After the „check in” and departure, I’m recommending to sail to Island Brač (try with „Brach”) and stay over the night in small town Milna (W/SW) or on anchor(green arrow – recommended area) in one of the bays SW of island. Day 2 Form night berth sail East toward town Bol and stay over night. For more about Island Brač go to: http://www.bracinfo.com/ anchorages area

  3. Day 3 Sail to Island Hvar (across the channel between islands), the bay of town Stari Grad (NW island Hvar) (translated “Old Town”). The town is at approximately 4 nautical miles inside the bay and there are many spots to stay on anchor in the bay. Still, you can go on a shore with RHIB to have a fun or dinner. Day 4 Sail to town Hvar (SW island Hvar). There you can stay in main port, or go to small archipelago south-west from town Hvar (archipelago; Pakleni otoci / Pakleni Islands). On small island, Sv. Klement, there is marina (Palmižana) on the north, and sandy bay on the south. Both option to stay there over the night are great. From island (marina) there is water taxi to town of Hvar (sailing very frequently up to 0100, two way ticket price approximately 13 Euro). For more about Island Hvar go to:http://www.hvarinfo.com/ anchorages area marina anchorages

  4. Day 5 Sail to Island Vis (SW from Hvar). At Vis you can stay in town Vis (N) or Komiža (SW). Both are great options. Interesting point is that Island Vis was few years under rule of UK (around 1810) and they have one of only cricket clubs in Croatia. Island Biševo (SW) is beautiful for diving and has cave on water surface in which you can enter with small boat/RHIB. For more about Island Vis go to:http://www.tz-vis.hr/Default.aspx?sifraStranica=276 anchorages g area anchorages

  5. Day 6 My recommending for day 6th is to sail closer to your charter marina (avoiding the run against the time and weather if conditions change on the last day) and the best place to go near by is town of Trogir. I love this town and it is great place to spend the evening / morning. Approaches from the sea are from the west (town is on small island which is in between Island Čiovo and shore, both connected with bridge. If you are staying the last day in Trogir, you can refuel the boat(s) there (as chartering condition to return the sailboat refueled to the top). For more about Trogir go to: http://www.trogironline.com/history_culture.html or http://tztrogir.hr/#52496 Can not sail this channel, have to go around island Čiovo anchorages area

  6. Sailing in summer; • During the average days wind will be created by thermic: • in the morning there will be wind from east (local name levanat / levanto) with strength of 10 knots, at maximum up to 15 knots (flows from 0700 to 1100 h), • afternoons, from west (local name maestral / mistral) with strength of 15 knots, at maximum up to 20 - 25 knots (flows from 1300 to 1900 h) • over the night, light breeze from the north with strength 3 to 10 knots. • tides in mid Adriatic are very small (average clearance between high and low waters are less than 1 meter). • Sometimes, in summer time, there are some short storms coming from the west / north west. Storm season is during the second half of August, but it can happened earlier too. Follow the air pressure and if suddenly goes down, most likely the storm is coming. You should see a huge cloud, the cumulonimbus, coming from W/NW which brings the storm. These cyclones are short (45 to 90 minutes), but very strong with wind form 50 to 60 knots. • Recommendation; if you are at sea, take life jackets, close the boat and sail (use the engine/motor) in storm direction – through it. If you are at shore; move your stern from a shore and tide a moorings at bow. If you are sailing during the storm, do not try to reach the harbour or sail close to shore. Do not worry, if happen, it is for short time. • Diving; • You have to have license, but in shallow water you can dive without. Water visibility is 20 – 25 meters.

  7. Useful information and webs; • all emergency calls on 112 • Maritime broadcasting and communication with authorities on VHF channel 16, • weather forecasting on VHS channel 73 • Broadcastings are on English, Croatian and Italian • In some bays, you will find mooring berth on buoys. Those are under concession and price for using them are approximately 20 Euros per night (for 35 to 40 feet's sailboat). If you use them, garbage disposal should included. • In marinas and on berths at shore, prices for berth (24 hours) are between 4 and 6 Euros pre meter. • Useful webs; • Meteorology: • http://www.windfinder.com/windreports/windkarte_hr.htm • http://meteo.hr/index_en.php • http://prognoza.hr/karte_e.php?id=aladin&param=&it= • Navigation info; • http://peljar.cvs.hr/reference.php • About Croatia and Dalmatia • http://croatia.hr/en-GB/Homepage • http://www.dalmatia.hr • Split • http://www.visitsplit.com/15663/home/ • http://www.split.info/

  8. Fuel stations(see next slide for the more details) I’m recommending „green” stations; they are on the route and depth clearance for sailing boats is OK 1 2 3 Rogač 4 Sumartin 5 6 Vrboska 7 8 9

  9. Fuel stations Station in Split may be closed due to construction of the shore in harbour. Recommending to check this during the „check in” procedure since you have to return the boat with full fuel tank (s). In that case alternatives are Trogir, Rogać (Island Šolta) or Milna (IslandBrač)
