  1. Fixing the Surfboard Yourself: What are the Best Ways to Do It? When there is minor damage to your surfboard, you can fix it yourself. Today, there are many different ding repair techniques and various products and kits available. However, it’s often hard to know where to begin. The first step should always be to assess the situation. The strategy you'll go with depends on the type of damage done to the board and the time and money you're willing to spend. Here we'll discuss easy surfboard repair - punctures, dents, and deep scratches in a surfboard. But not the major issues that affect the overall shape of the board. If there is a small surfboard pressure ding or dent, you may not require repairing. You only need to fix the board that is taking on water through a puncture or cracks. You can also repair a snapped surfboard, but the process can be complex. So, here are few ways to fix a surfboard on your own. 1.Ding Tape If you want to stop water from entering your surfboard, apply the ding tape to the damaged area. It won’t add unnecessary weight as well. Some surfers put stickers, which is also an option but not a guaranteed solution. Use ding tape if you want an easy, lightweight, and guaranteed solution for surfboard repair. Ding tape is UV and water-resistant as it is made of marine-grade material. Moreover, you can apply it to both epoxy and polyester surfboards. 2.Ding Putty One of the easiest and quickest ways to repair surfboard pressure ding is using a putty stick. It works well with both epoxy and polyester surfboards. You can apply the ding putty repair stick in three easy steps: Pinch it – to activate compounds Knead it Smooth it (after which you can go back in the water) 3.UV Cure Ding Resin

  2. UV cure is a traditional form of repairing a surfboard. When purchasing a UV cure product, you need to buy what matches your polyester or epoxy board construction. You don’t want to mix that up. UV cure will generally take five to twenty minutes to set, depending on how much the ding repair is exposed to the sun. 4.Traditional Ding Repair Kit A custom surfboard repair kit includes: Hardener Resin Fiberglass cloth patch Sandpaper Cups Application tubes Mixing sticks Cover sheets Q-Cell filler It is essential to match the ding repair kit with the appropriate material of your board, either epoxy or polyester. The repair process is usually longer, as a hardener is used to activate the resin. The repair will take five to seven hours to harden before it's ready to sand and finish. Most surfers want more control of the glass, filler, and general strength of the repair. Thus, they use the more manual process of a ding repair kit. You can do easy surfboard repair yourself, such as fixing pressure dings and dents. However, leave repairing snapped board to the professionals. Source: https://dingzap.com/product/ding-zap
