SUSTAINABILITY OF PACE ON CAMPUS • SWOT analysis; Establish infrastructure for PACE; Create a culture of service-learning and commitment to the community • 2017-2018: • QEP Implementation committee deactivated Fall 2017, members integrated into PACE Advisory Board. • Currently identifying potential transition models for Post-QEP implementation of community engagement on campus • Sheila Tenney – Director for Corporate, Community, and Academic Partnerships • 2018-2019: • YEAR 5 of QEP! • Identify permanent home for PACE

INTEGRATE WITH OTHER UNIVERSITY INITIATIVES • Develop a formalized means to articulate the PACE course experiences; Co-Curricular portfolio; Create internal clearinghouse of related activities; Develop PACE “independent study” course as a “capstone” PACE experience • 2017-2018 • Partnership “Matchmaking” database development ongoing (near completion) • Survey of courses with community engagement (return rate issues) • Taskforce to develop PACE 4000 (and potentially 1000, 2000, 3000) course • OrgSync purchased by Student Affairs • 2018-2019 • Finalize matchmaking database, populate with past data • Update survey of courses, improve reporting • Submit proposal to UCC • Work with Student Affairs for co-curricular transcript via OrgSync

  4. FACULTY REWARDS AND SUPPORT • Integrate common language, university-wide, rewarding promotion and tenure credit for community engagement; Develop PACE research community • 2017-2018 • Specific line for community-engaged academic activity in faculty handbook • Five abstracts accepted for manuscript in Special Issue (focused on MSI/HBCU) of Journal of Community Engagement and Scholarship (projected Fall 2018) • Featured article in International Journal for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education • Increased faculty scholarly production • 2018-2019 • Additional scholarship • Identify other faculty award opportunities • Consider additional Promotion and Tenure language for scholarship activities • Improved reporting

  5. ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES • USG Faculty Learning Community – Service Learning • Application for AASCU’s Excellence and Innovation Award focused on Civic Learning and Community Engagement (pending) • Lead QEP Evaluator for SACSCOC (Miller, 2018)
