  1. Our Journey so Far

  2. Christ Apostolic Church, House of Praise was founded in 1982 • The church started holding its services in one of the founding member’s apartment before acquiring and relocating to a two-storey building located at 1545 6th Street NW, Washington DC.

  3. C.A.C House of Praise has come a long way. There had been some trying periods for the assembly 1992 was a trying period for the assembly due to an administrative conflict which later caused majority of the members to move out of 1545 6th St Church to continue their services at Armstrong Adult Education center building on 3rd and O St, NW. A couple of months later, the church was able to secure a space at African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church building on 11th and M street, NW Washington DC.

  4. Movement to our present location In October 1995, we moved out of AME Church as a tenant and moved in to our own building located at 4909 Edmonston Road, Hyattsville, MD.

  6. Challenges at our present location Since we moved into our present location, we have witnessed explosion in spiritual growth and numerical increase. To God be the glory, all the various departments of the church have been doing so well. However, the church is not realizing the full potentials of these ministries as a result of the space challenges facing the church.

  7. The Birth of the Building Project. Our Visions and Dreams are so great, but lack of space and related resources to convert them to realties has been a great challenge facing the church. There was just not enough room to cater to the strength the congregation we had grown into. Thus the race began for a new place of worship that will double or even triple the current 500 seating capacity.

  8. Birdside View The leadership of the church deliberated upon a series of architectural designs and finally settled on what we now have. This design has two phases.

  10. Building Permit Challenges The Church encountered so many obstacles in securing a Permit for the Building Project. It took us years to come through with it. By now the project would have been completed if not for our failure to get the permit in time. But we thank God that everything happens at His appointed time.

  14. Having waited for so long for construction to begin, the installation of this signboard, which signaled the commencement of the project, was greeted with jubilations and thanksgiving to God.

  15. In order to raise money for the Project, the Building Committee came up with some ideas on Fund Raising. One of these was the sales of the Commemorative Spades for the Ground Breaking ceremony which raise quite a lot of money for the project.
