Our journey so far …… • Engaging children, young people and parents is well established in Sefton; • Informed Strategic Needs Assessment, Health and Wellbeing Strategy and authorisation of our local Clinical Commissioning Groups; • Peer led – parent to parent - young people to young people through our Young Advisors; • Today we want to share what we have done with parents through our Maternity Services Liaison Committee and you will hear directly from our Young Advisors

Sefton Young Advisors - Sexual Health – Mystery Shopping - Healthwatch – Previous work with LINk, Youth Advisory Group, Healthwatch steering group member, facilitation of youth involvement planning event. - CSE – Trained in child sexual exploitation, and co deliver CSE training to adults and professionals. - Mental Health – BOND (Better Outcomes, new delivery), CAMHelions, TAMHs (Targeted mental health in schools) evaluation
Sefton Young Advisors • What could we do in the future? - You’re Welcome Standard – We could assess services for the charter mark - Training for youth forums, youth panels and the staff that work with them - Training frontline staff - Develop awareness raising campaigns on issues identified in the community • sefton.youngadvisors.org.uk
Challenges for the future : • Enshrining genuine engagement in how we do business – not a tick box exercise; • Ensuring children, young people and parents experiences of services influence commissioning and improve quality; • Achieving economies of scale – sharing resources – collective processes across all partners; • Not to over consult – ask once and use many times • Continuing to learn and share practice – this network is crucial;
