Getting Videos of Youtube • Find your video on youtube e.g. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZsBL4d1Eus • Place the work ‘kick’ in the url in front of the youtube e.g. http://www.kickyoutube.com/watch?v=HZsBL4d1Eus And go to the website • Choose MP4 and click Go • Once it says DOWN right click on it and click Save Target As… • Choose a place to save it.

Inserting a Movie – Option 1 • PowerPoint only accepts movies that can be played by Windows Media Player • If the movie plays in Windows Media Player, you can insert it as a media clip in your presentation by doing the following: • On the Insert tab, in the Text group, click Object. • In the Object type list, click Create from file, and then enter the name of the movie file or click Browse.

Inserting Movie & Flash Animation Firstly you have to allow the ‘Developer’ tab to this by following the instructions below: • Click the Office Button (Big windows button). • Click the PowerPoint Options button. • In the PowerPoint Options dialog box, select the Popular option from the list on the left. • Make sure the box is checked beside Show Developer tab in the Ribbon. • Click OK to apply the option. http://presentationsoft.about.com/od/youtubeinpowerpoint/tp/080201youtubeflash_ppt2007.htm

  5. Inserting Movie & Flash Animation • Draw the YouTube Flash Movie Container • Your mouse cursor will change to a + (plus sign) on the slide. • Drag your mouse to form a rectangle on the slide. When you let go of the mouse, you will see a box with a large X through the rectangle. This is the container for your YouTube Flash movie. Inserting Movie & Flash Animation • Navigate to the Folder Containing the YouTube Flash Movie File • The file name path is the complete folder structure, including the file name, of the YouTube Flash movie on your computer. Flash movies have file extensions of SWF. • Navigate to the folder you created in Step 2. • DO NOT click on the YouTube Flash movie file in the list of file names. That will cause the movie to open.   7. Inserting Movie & Flash Animation • Flash Movie File Name Path • In the Address text box, click your mouse at the end of the text. For example - C:\WR Documents\YouTube Flash Movies • Type a backslash ( \ )at the end of the current path followed by the actual file name of your YouTube Flash movie. Inserting Movie & Flash Animation • Return to the Shockwave Flash Object • Restore the PowerPoint 2007 window to full screen, if necessary. • Right click on the large rectangle with the X in the middle (the container for the YouTube Flash movie) and choose Properties from the shortcut menu. • When the Properties dialog box opens, click (Custom) at the top of the list. • Click on the ... button beside (Custom).   9. Inserting Movie & Flash Animation • Insert the Flash Movie URL • The Property Pages dialog box opens, showing properties for your YouTube Flash movie. Paste the path to your .SWF file into the Movie URL text box. This is the file name path you copied in Step 5. • Add a check mark beside Embed Movie.   10. Inserting Movie & Flash Animation • View the YouTube Flash Movie in PowerPoint 2007 • Note - Your YouTube Flash movie may or may not show in the container you created, at this time. The large X may still show until you have run the slide show for the first time. • To test this one slide only • Click on the Slide Show tab of the ribbon • Select From Current Slide • Or press the keyboard shortcut key combination Shift + F5. • To run the complete slide show • Click on the Slide Show tab of the ribbon • Select From Beginning • Or press the F5 key on the keyboard. http://presentationsoft.about.com/od/youtubeinpowerpoint/tp/080201youtubeflash_ppt2007.htm
