  2. The gila monster lives in the desert. He bites. He won’t let go. He walks.

  3. A spider lives in the desert. He bites. They make spider webs. He crawls. He has strings on his back. He has 8 legs.

  4. A snake lives in the desert. He slithers. It bites. He sticks his tongue out. He has lines on his body.

  5. A tortoise lives in the desert. He can put his head inside. He can go in the water. He bites. He walks slow.

  6. A saguaro cactus lives in the desert. It’s poky and it hurts you. There are holes and birds live in the holes, like a woodpecker or an owl. It lives a long time and then it dies.

  7. We live in the desert in Laveen, Arizona. It has cactus in it. It does not rain much in the desert. It is hot during the day and cold at night.

  8. This book was made 1/31/14 by Mr. Jonathan’s PM class, using the student’s own words and thoughts as a culmination to our desert unit.
