A phrase is a group of words that does not include a subject and verb Prepositional phrases = prepositions + objects of preposition + other words like adjectives under the round table Under is the preposition Table is the Object of the preposition Under the round table is the prepositional phrase.

  2. Most prepositions sound like directional words...they tell us where one noun in the sentence is in RELATIONSHIP to another noun in the sentence.
