  1. Rule-Based Bots or AI Bots: Which Is Best for Your Business Website? Presented By: Deepak Puri

  2. Chatbots are born to rule. Some time ago, a lot of techie people take chatbots as a silicon valley craze. This creates a massive hype in the market. Somehow, it becomes the talk of the town. A lot of debates happened but now it has been paused. Several companies of different sectors have incorporated chatbots and utilize them to carry out multiple tasks. They assist the companies to reduce the workload and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.

  3. “Should go for AI or not , A Big Question.” We have organized an online seminar in October. The online seminar is based on the drop in mobile applications and the uplift of bots. Almost 145 people took part in it. After communicating with companies, we found that many of them are interested in deploying bots. But this states that they rid off AI-capabilities for their bot so that they become the first-to-market in their field.

  4. Question: Do rule-based bots can answers the questions like: how good the rule chatbot is and how considerable the database is? Answer: A rule-based bot can be created which can interpret the value that we provide to it. The only disadvantage is that we can not interpret the goal and context associated with the user's conversation. For instance: Suppose you need to order a pizza from dominos, you'll say “order a pizza from dominos ” and someone will say that “I need to order a pizza from dominos ”. Someone sitting in another country may use his parent language to book the flight. So, what AI-based or NLP-based bot do? They acknowledge the language, context, and goal and then it functions accordingly based on the acknowledgment it gets. A rule-based bot only interprets a predefined set of choices.

  5. Question: How we can use NLP and where is suitable place of using it? Answer: It stands for natural language processing which can be used in situations where dynamic and general answers, options and questions occur. NLP is used to get the insights regarding the goal and context of the user. Suppose you want to place an online order for chicken then it will give you pre-considered options through rule-based bots. But if you'll say " I am hungry" or someone will say "I am starving" then NLP is used so that bot can understand what the user wants to convey.

  6. Is Natural Language Processing is required by Bot? NLP bot developers agree: “It depends.” In the last few months, we have interacted many companies who want a bot deployed immediately, thus their predilection is for a rule-based bot. But this states that they rid off AI-capabilities for their bot in the rush to be the first-to-market in their field. The other reason is that they are inexpensive. The cost occurs in developing rule-based bot is not much higher. You can not opt this bot just because it is cheap. In fact, in some scenarios, an AI-bot would be overkill.

  7. Do you really require to offer an AI-bot to your customers who just want to know the status of their insurance policy or want to pick a type of chicken you want to eat? The great example of the rule-based bot was Spock Bot. It was entertaining and educational. UPS and Skyscanner are rule-based bots. They are basically used for handling the inquiries about flight and shipping rates. Today, most of the other bots in the market are rule-based bots. It is so because creating a truly AI chatbot needs developing a self-training bot that uses natural language processing.
