  1. Why we need a root canal? There are lots of reasons for “that we need a root canal ”, but what about the question “when we need it?” When pain strikes, it is mainly hard to put the mind to the routine work. Then you constantly think about “are these signs of root canal treatment?”, “are these root canal pain symptoms” “how do you know that when you need a root canal?” etc. However, the dentist or endodontist can determine this very well. Choose Root canal Auckland for the best result because it is about your mouth. Determine that when the filling is needed and when a root canal is needed. A qualified dentist checks all symptoms and signs of the patient. Some symptoms that patients are experiencing and also that help the dentist diagnose and evaluate the case better are: Pain: A pulsating kind of pain that increases on changing posture, mainly while lying down or at night, causing excessive pain. The tooth is painful and susceptible to tapping, touch, and biting forces. Swelling in the gums and surrounding tissue: Sometimes, patients visit their dentists when their toothache is probably a few days or weeks old. They have not been able to reduce it using painkillers. Copyright © 2021 Dentist Auckland NZ. All rights reserved.

  2. That is one of the biggest mistakes that most patients can make. Because of this delay, the infection originating in the root canal of the tooth becomes chronic. It gives signs to show the urgency that a root canal treatment is required. The swelling can be painful and tender or completely asymptomatic; it may also come and go. In many cases, the node has an opening that offers the fluid inside the surrounding soft tissues and the infected tooth to drain by themselves. Discolouration of the tooth: Usually, the patients can notice the change in the colour of the infected tooth. This colour change indicates that the tooth pulp is dead and it needs a root canal treatment. Most of the time, the tooth discolouration is noticeable. But the patient is asymptomatic. Feeling ill: Did you know that an infected root canal can cause you to feel ill? It is true. Many patients have a feeling of fever at times and general illness. While these root canal signs and symptoms are identifiable by both patients and dentists, there are some signs that only dentists can identify and answer the patients’ question -“When is a root canal needed?” At Dentist Auckland, we, as a team of professional dentists, provides routine consultations and checks patients for signs of early tooth decay. Our doctors are asked at our clinics that one common question is, “how do you know it is a filling or a root canal?”. Well, when the decay is minor or in its initial stages, a simple filling is done. But, when the decline has extended into the pulp and infected, a root canal treatment is performed. If you still have any query related to this, you can contact us.
