  2. Introduction • Are you interested in an exciting career involving technology? Not sure what kind of career though? • This WebQuest will guide you and assist you in finding careers that interest you! • You will have the opportunity to research many different and exciting careers you can pursue after high school!

Task • You will be able to browse multiple websites relating to the course and area of technology you are currently studying. • You will be able to choose a career of interest and conduct research on education needed for the career, what the career entails while your “on the job”, the amount of money you can earn, along with other characteristics of the career. • Once research has been conducted, you will be able to explain several important characteristics of the career.

Process • Locate the area of technology you are currently studying and click on the websites located underneath. • Browse through several of these websites until you find a career that interests you. • Read through all the information provided to get an accurate description of the career. • While reading, be sure to answer the questions on the next slide and include them into your own PowerPoint slideshow.

  5. Slide 1 (Intro) Course name, your name, name of job Slide 2 Give a description of the job and the duties of the job.   Where can a person do that job? What training is needed for the job?  Slide 3 Where can one get that training?  Name a specific school and its location. How much will that training cost? Are added training or requirements needed to keep that job. Slide 4 Discuss high school skills or classes that would be helpful to you if you want to do this job at a later date.  What is the job outlook nationally? What is the job outlook for this job in New York?  Slide 5 Are there any specific skills required?  What salary can you expect?  Are there any other points of information that would be useful to a person considering this career?  Slide 6 (Conclusion) Would you go into this career knowing what you have learned? Explain why. Process

Keep font size large. Common Mistakes Too much information; reader gets distracted. Background too dark; difficult to read text. Stick with same background and transition.
