  3. Table of Contents This section of the tutorial covers all steps necessary for reviewing a Performance Review using the Performance Management System. The Process Overview will give you a visual idea of how the process works. Process Overview The Reviewing the Review section will guide you step by step on how to navigate through a Performance Review before certification. Reviewing the Review To go directly to a section click the button to the left OR Click the Next button Back Next

Email notification is received by supervisor Supervisor completes performance review on Manager Self-Service Supervisor & employee discuss the performance review Supervisor certifies performance review Email notification is sent to employee Employee certifies performance review on Employee Self-Service Email notification is sent to supervisor Performance review is complete Process Overview Here is the basic process for creating a performance review. If you do not know how to get to this screen, please review the Getting Started section of this tutorial by clicking the button in the upper right corner to return to the Table of Contents Reviewing the Performance Review From the Performance Management Main Menu screen, click the Certify/Finalize a Review button Click the Next button Back Next

  8. Reviewing the Performance Review The Review Menu appears showing your name, process level, and current position. Click the Next button Back Next

  9. Reviewing the Performance Review The most current rating period shows in the Select Rating Period area. Click the Next button Back Next

  10. Reviewing the Performance Review If you do not see the current rating period, it is possible that you and/or your supervisor have not certified the performance plan. Once the plan is certified, it will be available from the Review Menu. Click the Next button Back Next

  11. Reviewing the Performance Review The overall rating now appears on the review menu for this rating period. The rating definitions are provided next. Click the Next button Back Next

Reviewing the Performance Review • The Selected Competencies Screen appears listing the competencies and their performance rating • The rating definitions are: • HP – High Performing • ME – Meets Expectations • NI – Needs Improvement • UN - Unsatisfactory The Full Description button next to each competency provides additional information/details about the competency. To exit comments, click the Back to Selected Competencies button. Click the Next button Back Next

  15. Reviewing the Performance Review A red asterisk (*) indicates that your supervisor has made additional comments to the competency To review comments, click the Comments button. To exit comments, click the Back to Selected Competencies button. Click the Next button Back Next

  16. Reviewing the Performance Review * To review any development plan comments from your supervisor, click the Development Plan button. To exit, click the Back to Selected Competencies button. Click the Next button Back Next

  17. Reviewing the Performance Review You also have access to the Behaviorally Anchored Rating Scales documentation from this screen. The link directs you to the appropriate group information based on your job group code. When you click the Link to BARS Document button, a new web browser screen will open with the group information. To return to the Selected Competencies screen, just close the web browser screen. Click the Next button Back Next

  18. Reviewing the Performance Review After reviewing the competencies area, click the Back to Review Menu button. Click the Next button Back Next

  19. Reviewing the Performance Review To review objectives, click the Objectives/Factors button. Click the Next button Back Next

  20. Reviewing the Performance Review The first objective appears with the addition of your supervisor’s evaluation of that objective. To navigate between each objective, click the Next or Previous buttons at the bottom of the screen. To exit objectives, click the Back to Review Menu button. Click the Next button Back Next

  21. Reviewing the Performance Review The Progress Review/Comments Area can be used by both you and your supervisor to communicate progress and issues. Click the Progress Review/Comments button. Click the Next button Back Next

  22. Reviewing the Performance Review The Progress Review/Comments Area screen appears. To add comments, click in the Employee text box and being typing. You are limited to 10,000 characters, including spaces, for this text box To save comments, click the Save Employee Progress Review/Comments button. Click the Next button Back Next

  23. Reviewing the Performance Review To exit, click the Back to Review Menu button. Now you are ready to certify your performance review. Click the Next button Back Next

To exit this section, click the button in the upper right corner of your web browser • This concludes the Reviewing the Performance Review section of the Performance Management System Tutorial for Employees. • The next section, Certifying the Performance Review, will complete the Performance Review process. • If you have any questions on this section please contact your agency’s Human Resources Office or Performance Management Liaison. When the animation is complete, you will be prompted to click on a button. Click the Back button Back
