  1. Welcome to Mrs. Sedillo’s Class! Foundations

  2. About me… • I was born in Michigan in the northern part of the US. • I am 41 years old. • I was in the Navy for 6 years and I have lived in Italy. • I am married. My husband’s name is Phil. • I have 3 children, 2 daughters and 1 son. Their names are Annika, Elizabeth, and Benjamin. • In my free time, I like to play video games, go on the internet, and read. • I got my BA and my MA in English at TAMUCC.

  3. Cell Phones… • No texting if I am talking. • No phone calls during class. • You may use your phone as a translator, but you may not text your friends with it. • Set phone to vibrate. No ringing!

  4. Talking… • When I am talking, you may not. • When one of your classmates is answering a question or reading out loud, you may not talk. • No talking during tests.

  5. Food and drinks… • You can eat in class, but you have to clean up after yourself! • Drinks must have a lid. Spills take up class time and are disrespectful to our custodian, Beth.

  6. Respect… • Treat each other with respect. Don’t laugh at your classmates if they make a mistake. • Keep your hands to yourself. • Stay in your seat unless I ask you to get up. • Raise your hand if you want to say something. • The area behind my desk is just for me. Please do not come into my space unless I ask you to—and I will!

  7. Homework and Class work… • Do your homework. It’s very important! • Pay attention to instructions. Doing your work the way I tell you is part of learning to listen and understand English, and an important skill for University! • Have your homework completed when I ask for it. • Do class work in class. If you sit and do not do your work, your grade will go down.
