IMIS Objective To support the RIS-NAC regions in developing, designing and implementing specific innovation policy measures resulting from their regional innovation Action Plans This happens through the implementation of counselling schemes i.e. the provision of a specific number of expert days to the regional authorities and or key regional organizations of the region

Fields of Counselling Support (1) • Collateral arrangements, securing, special funding (e.g. export support) ; Soft loans & special risk sharing mechanisms ; Equity loans for start-ups • Spin off funding mechanisms from public research institutions, universities and large corporations • IPR equity arrangements, laboratory leasing, entrepreneurial leave arrangements • New trends in traditional R&D funding • Mechanisms to attract foreign research funding • EC framework programme; Directing structural funds more into research and innovation; Participation in international networks (COST, Eureka,...)

Fields of Counselling Support (2) • Funding of further education, research chair systems, apprenticeships etc. • Increasing the efficiency of existing research & innovation funding • Using ‘Excellence’ for Innovation Promotion and Policy making • Innovation Management Techniques (IMT), Technology Innovation Audits and Technology Foresight and Watch services • Enterprise networking schemes, Schemes to enhance Technology Transfer and Exploitation of RTD -Training
