  3. A bully is someone who… continually hurts others with their words or actions.

  5. Jason picked up Carly’s Math book after she dropped it.

  6. At recess Matt took Juan’s basketball and wouldn’t give it back. How did Juan feel?

  7. Tina was reading a book during silent reading. Frank pushed and took her book. Why did Frank push Tina? How did Tina feel?

  8. Pam helped Matt when he fell down at recess.

  9. Abby and Allison took turns jumping while playing hopscotch.

  10. During PE Jordan tripped Scott while he was jumping rope. Why did Jordan trip Scott? How did Scott feel?

  11. Here are some ways to deal with bullies…

  12. Stay Calm and Act Brave This may be enough to discourage the bully from picking on you.

  13. Ignore the Bully Don’t hit, kick, or push back to deal with someone bullying you or your friends… Bullies are looking for a reaction. By acting as if you do not care about their actions you may help stop their bad behavior.

  14. Stand Up for Yourself Tell them to stop it and walk away.

  15. Be A Buddy Walk with friends who are being bullied.

  16. Don’t Bully Back Remember, bullies want a reaction!

  17. Brainstorm things to say… If you are being bullied or see someone else being bullied- have some things to say ready in your mind.

  18. “You-You’re good!” • “What, Again?” • “Is this your goal in life or something?” • “Not getting tired of this?” • “Thank you.” • “Sticks and Stones.” • “That was kind of funny, but stop.” • “I hope no one is doing this to your little brother.” • “You are wasting my time.”
