  1. Art 2 and 3 Bellwork The Monster in My Closet!

  2. You need 9 X 12 art paper. Read the following description of the monster in MY closet and draw him from my description. • I opened the door and there he was, the monster in MY closet. He stared at me with two red eyes the size of plump cherry tomatoes with beady, black pupils. His round, basketball like head was dominated by an orange, potato like nose and a large mouth that took up the lower half of his head. He was -grinning wickedly now, showing his razor sharp teeth, and even though he was smiling, his furrowed brow told me it was not friendly. His head was covered in thick purple fur and seemed to teeter on a long, too thin neck that was at least as long as his head was tall. His round, fur covered body was twice as big as his head and rested on oversized, hairless, green feet that jutted out at opposite angles from his body. His hands dangled from long, skinny arms and his knuckles dragged the floor, showing long, cruel talons for fingernails.

  3. The Monster in My Closet. • Portfolio, lined notebook paper, seating chart 3 • Following my example from yesterday, you are to describe the monster in your closet. Use loads of details and descriptive language. Try to help the viewer visualize features and relative sizes of features by comparing them to things we already know and each other. Again, details; lots and lots of details! Oh, and your monster doesn’t have to be bad! • Agenda: Bellwork, Art 2 Color Pencil practice then projects; Art 3 self portraits.

  4. The Monster in My Closet. • Portfolio, 9X12 art paper, monster description, seating chart 3 • Following my example you are to draw the monster in your closet. Include details outlined in your narration. Try to make your monster match your writing as close as possible. If you find that you left out details that would make it easier to draw your monster, you may update your writing to reflect this. • Agenda: Bellwork, Art 2 Color Pencil practice then projects; Art 3 self portraits.

  5. The Monster in My Closet. YOUR • Portfolio, 9X12 art paper, random monster description, seating chart 3 • Following my example you are to draw the monster in someone else’s closet. Try to make your monster match the writing as close as possible. Pay particular attention to the details that make that monster unique! • Agenda: Bellwork, Art 2 Color Pencil projects; Art 3 self portraits, plicker review.

  6. Another exquisite corpse story, titled The Monster In My Closet!! • Portfolio, lined notebook paper (look at the example in the back so you know how to set up your paper). • Write a story with your monster as the star. There is no need to write a description of your monster, you’ve already done that. Start with “The monster saw me standing there and advanced slowly toward me.” • Now that you know what we are doing, make your story interesting and descriptive. Make your monster DO something. Your monster does not have to be bad and regardless you must keep your story rated PG. Write the first 10 lines and stop there. • Agenda: Bellwork, monster share, projects.

  7. Another exquisite corpse story, titled The Monster In My Closet!! • Portfolio, SC3 • We are going to continue to write our story by randomly distributing the beginning of the story we started on Friday. You are to read the LAST LINE ONLY and continue writing the story based on that line. • Again, make your story interesting and descriptive. Make the monster DO something. Remember to keep your story rated PG. Write the next 10 lines and stop there. This is the middle of the story, so keep it going by having rich language, good details and actions. • Agenda: Bellwork, monster share, projects.

  8. Another exquisite corpse story, titled The Monster In My Closet!! • Portfolio, SC3 • LAST DAY!! Same as before, random distribution, read the LAST LINE ONLY and continue writing the story based on that line. • Again, make your story interesting and descriptive. Make the monster DO something. Remember to keep your story rated PG. Write the next 10 lines and stop there. This is the end of the story, so wrap it up in a nice tidy bow. Once you are finished you may read your story! • Agenda: Bellwork, projects, monster share.
