NTI Room “The consequence in my class for not doing your work - is doing your work!” Rick Wormeli In 2016, we noticed that our students were failing their classes at higher rates and realized that it wasn’t because they didn’t understand the concepts….they just weren’t doing the work! Thus, the establishment of the NTI Room.

  6. Algebra I - Tests are broken down by standards. If students fail standards with a 60-69, they will be assigned to Algebra Interventions during lunch time. They will be retaught until they are ready to retest. They receive full credit for the retest and are then released back to regular C25. Students who fail with a grade lower than 65, will be assigned to a C25 with a Math teacher until they no longer need support. Algebra students are able to retake tests all semester long.

  8. Title I information The intent of Title I is to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high quality education. Title I provides funds to improve achievement of the lowest-achieving students – those who are failing, or are most at-risk of failing, to meet State academic achievement standards – enrolled in high-poverty schools

  18. Bellies should be covered. No tank tops for boys. No spaghetti straps for girls. No off-she shoulder tops for girls.

  19. Shorts should extend lower than fingertips Jeans should not have rips close to the groin or the bottom. These are NEVER okay. (Weekend jeans!) Jeans like these MUST be worn with tights underneath.

  20. T-Shirts should never show alcohol, drugs, nudity, Profanity, guns, or gang-related images

  21. In the case of a dress code violation, students will be offered an alternate outfit or will call home for a different set of clothes. Refusal to change will result in disciplinary consequences.

  22. Student Schedules • Today, your student will receive their tentative schedule for this semester. • We are still in the process of balancing classes, so there is a possibility this could change before the start of the school year. Duluth High School Challenging All To Succeed

  23. Schedule Correction needed? We will only be doing schedule corrections for the following reasons: • Student has already received credit for the course. • Student has not passed the pre-requisite course. • NOTE: We are unable to honor requests for elective changes. The deadline for requesting changes was May 23rd.

  24. Schedule Correction needed? All level changes in classes (example: College Prep to Honors), will take place starting the second week of school and must come from the specific teacher after a conversation with both you and your student.

  27. Duluth High School welcomes our DREAMS (Cohort 1) students in the class of 2022!

  28. WHAT?Our inquiry-based, experiential, innovative, collaborative, and cross-curricular program that uses project-based learning (PBL) and real-world applications coupled with partnerships from STEAM business partners to prepare students for 21st century careers. WHY? To equip students with 21st century skills and industry experience such as problem-solving for real-world application, public speaking and presentation skills, group interaction social skills, time-management skills, proficiency in formal and scientific writing, and a high level of comfort with digital resources. HOW? Through use of project-based learning including inquiry, engineering design process, collaboration, presentation and research. , Through use of project-based learning including inquiry, engineering design process, collaboration, presentation, and research. WHEN? Applications for Cohort 1 for the 2018-19 school year are closed. Applications for Cohort 2 (2019-20) will open in November. The deadline to apply for Cohort 2 is January 25, 2019.
