  2. Location of materials • Card catalog • Nonfiction • Accelerated Reader books – fiction, biographies, & nonfiction • Magazines, periodicals • Computers • Reference • Checkout • Book drop • Copy machine - .10

  3. Check out procedures • Make selection • One Accelerated Reader book at a time • Wait patiently and QUIETLY at the checkout window • State First/Last name • Loan period - two weeks • .05/day - late fine

  4. Library Schedule • The library will be open during every break and B & C lunch - closed A lunch • The library will be open to students who have a pass 1st – 6th periods, beginning at 8 am, not during homeroom or A lunch.

  5. Accelerated Reader • Set up by Literature/Reading teacher • Prizes/recognition for points earned

Library procedures • ENTER THE LIBRARY QUIETLY!!!! • If you are coming from class, you must have a pass that gives the following information: Your name Time Destination: Library Teacher’s signature • If you are to use the Internet, your pass must say “Internet”. • I will send you back to class if your pass does not give this information.

  7. Library Procedures, Con’t • Place the pass in the circulation window and look for needed materials QUIETLY. I will be glad to help you if you ask! • After checkout, I must sign your pass before you return to class. You must be back in your classroom, not in the library, when the bell rings for the next period. It is your responsibility to keep up with the time and return to class five minutes before the bell. • Please leave bookbags behind the door. • Sign in to use the Internet. • Please push your chair under the table when you leave.

  8. Computer Procedures • Students must sign in to use the Internet. • Students are not allowed to check email or play games on the computers located in the library. • Students must ask for permission to print. • .10 printer copies • Students are not allowed to change any computer settings. This includes but is not limited to screensavers, themes, or anything in the control panel. You may save on a disk borrowed from the library. • If you do not follow these specific guidelines, you will lose your computer privileges for a period of time.

  9. Rules for library users • Enter the library QUIETLY! Please work QUIETLY! • Do not change any settings in the control panel of the computers. • Keep hands and feet to yourself, throwing objects will not be allowed. • Please obey all student handbook rules.
