  1. Velocity Field of Central Europe from CEGRN Campaigns and CERGOP Permanent Stations G. Stangl1, A. Caporali2 , P. Mitterschiffthaler3, J. Zurutuza2 1 IWF/ÖAW, Austria, 2University of Padova, Italy, 3 Federal Office of Metrology and Surveying, Austria CERGOP Permanent Abstract Fig. 1: CEGRN epoch and CEROP permanent sites CEGRN 1996-2013 CERGOP permanent 2001-2014 The CEGRN campaigns are covering almost 20 years of geokinematics in Central Europe and have been extended by a network of permanent stations since almost 15 years. The time series of the permanent stations are not yet reprocessed but allow a comparison to the newly reprocessed CEGRN campaigns concerning velocities. The result is a densification of the velocity filed in Central Europe which allows a geokinematical investigation of areas at the Balkan Peninsula. Central European Research for Geodynamic Project permanent network Additionally to CEGRN permanent sites from EPN and the CEI countries are analyzed in a special network referenced to the current ITRF/IGS reference frames (starting with ITRF97, presently IGb08) Analysis is done by OLG AC of the EPN using the same criteria as for EPN networks Fig. 2: Example of Time series : CEGRN , CERGOP Velocity estimation and combination CEGRN Velocity estimation for CEGRN using the Bernese Software 5.2, stacking normal equations Velocity estimation for CERGOP Permanent using the Bernese Software 5.0, stacking weekly normal equations to fiducial sites in IGb08 -> CEGRN and CERGOP Permanent results in the same reference frame, comparable -> CEGRN densification due to data policy of countries (one week only), but slow (new sites in operation 6 years) -> CERGOP Permanent monitoring jumps and seasonal effects, quick, but more sparse -> Combination ideal for controlled densification Central European Geodynamic Research Network Funded in the past by 2 EU projects As an initiative of the CEI founded in 1994 with the first campaign, the GPS network was designed to observe crustal movements within the CEI countries Selected well founded sites were observed each year (since 1997 every second one) for about a week To remove seasonal and equipment variations approximate the same month and the same equipment was used The second reprocessing in IGb08 was done for campaigns 1996-2013 using Bernese Software 5.2 and the guidelines of the EPN analysis centres The solution (coordinates and velocities is referenced to IGS and EPN fiducial stations by minimum constraints Fig. 4: Combined vertical velocities Fig. 3: Combined horizontal velocities Conclusion & Outlook Densification in the regions of Bulgaria, Croatia and Serbia Densification in Bosnia-Hercegovina expected for the next years Improvement of vertical velocities by reprocessing CERGOP Permanent too We consider as very important the standardization in the processing and the use of consistent antenna models, precise orbits and EOP’s Combination of the CEGRN network with other networks processed with the same standards will enable a densification in a strict geodetic sense, without having to reprocess the original measurements
