High Level Goals • Long term goals • Implement an inquiry/research education culture within public schools system in the UAE • Institutionalize management of science fairs and science programs for middle and secondary schools • Increase the number of students participating in science fairs by 30% within 3 years • Short term goals Progress • Training completed for 65 science & math teachers on 21st century skills to promote enquiry based learning in the classrooms • 25 math and science teachers have volunteered as mentors to assist students • Start a Country wide faire and affiliate it to ISEF • Scientific Review committee established and trained on ISEF requirements/standards • Judging committee is still under review. • Participate with at least one project in ISEF 2011 -

Achievements to Date • Ministry of Education to assign a project leader to implement a nation wide Science Fair – Completed. • Affiliate existing science competition to ISEF - Completed • Train champion teachers on project based inquiry learning skills to be able to properly mentor students – 65 Teachers trained • Empower math and science project base learning- WIP • Secure Funding from MoE and external partners for science fair - WIP • Involve other organizations in supporting the students and teachers for training and establishing science fairs i.e. (IAT, Universities, MBRF) – under negotiation
