  2. The Situation • This is a pivotal time for the Ford, GM, and Chrysler companies. Poor economic conditions and less consumer sales of there cars have caused The Big Three automakers to ask congress for a Bailout Loan. • This money along with the changes The Big Three are making to production, wages, and benefits will hopefully give the auto industry a nudge to start once again making a profit.

  3. My Thesis and Blueprints • Thesis • The auto industry should receive the bailout money because, a large number of workers will be unemployed, some benefits will remain for workers and retirees, and it will allow the auto industry time to restructure. • Blueprints • A large number of workers will lose their jobs. • Benefits will still remain for workers/retirees. • It will allow the industry time to recover and restructure.
